Viva Las Vegas: A Luxurious Couples' Getaway
Today, I am here to sprinkle a bit of glitz and glam on your day. I'm beyond excited to unveil our latest travel tales category, and what better destination to kickstart this journey than the ever-vibrant Las Vegas, Nevada!
Now, let me tell you, as a mom with two little boys under two, the idea of a kid-free weekend with my spouse in Vegas sounds like a dream. And guess what? It's a dream we've lived, not once, not twice, but three times! Each visit has been more incredible than the last, with our recent trip setting the bar sky-high - a standard we plan to replicate time and again. I finally feel as though we are figuring out our must-do’s and our do-not’s!

On this glitzy adventure, we cozied up at The Cosmopolitan, a new choice from our previous escapade at The Bellagio. The Bellagio is fabulous, but we wanted to try something new and we chose The Cosmopolitan because it resonates with our vibe. Plus, their fountain view rooms? Absolute serenity! Watching those peaceful fountains from our room brought a sense of calm amidst the Vegas hustle. It will be a game changer once the corridor from the Cosmopolitan and the Bellagio is complete, and you won’t even have to step outside. I prefer to gamble at MGM properties and didn’t want to sign up for another player’s card with The Cosmopolitan’s program, Identity Rewards.
Here’s a little luxury tip: signing up for players' cards at MGM and Caesars Palace is a game-changer. Why? Because you can charge all your food, shows, and even track your gambling expenses to these cards. It's the ultimate hack for potentially getting comps based on your spending. Trust me, it's worth it!
And speaking of worth it, JetBlue Vacations is Vegas' best-kept secret for booking. It felt like we snagged the hotel for free and only paid for the flights! After pricing it out separately, the choice was a no-brainer.
Now to my favorite part of Las Vegas. Food.
Foodies, listen up! Our culinary journey was as diverse as Vegas itself. The best-kept secret, you ask? China Poblano. Their happy hour is a paradise of half-priced appetizers and specialty-priced margaritas. My husband, the margarita connoisseur, gives them two thumbs up!

But not every stop was a hit on this trip. As a "Vanderpump Rules" enthusiast and die-hard fan who will indoctrinate all of my friends to also watch the show, Vanderpump Paris was a must-visit this trip. I spent so much time making our itinerary and refining our restaurant list, but it fell short of expectations with overrated food and pricey cocktails. The menu, which appears like a Parisian Newspaper, was difficult to follow and, quite frankly, overwhelming, so I didn’t even want to look at it. The Beef Wellington slider was very deceiving—while the pastry was delightful and fluffy, it was filled with ground beef…not something I typically expect when I order a Beef Wellington Slider. I will always give credit where credit is due. With this in mind, the decor in Vanderpump Paris was gorgeous and so unique. It is an absolutely gorgeous restaurant, and you find something new and captivating everytime you scanned the florals and the decor in the room. Lisa Vanderpump knocked decor out of the park on this one. If you MUST add Vanderpump Paris to your list because you are a VPump lover like me, make the trip but grab a drink only, pass on having a meal there.
Moving onto the next MUST EAT restaurants, Breakfast at Sadelle's is a non-negotiable. It's the first reservation we make every time every time we plan our trip to Vegas. The steak and eggs are simply chef’s kiss. Also, on this trip, we added Tao to our "must-repeat" list for dinner. The sushi, fried rice, and their giant fortune cookie? Heavenly! It is filled with chocolate and vanilla mousse and keeps us wanting more.
For a dose of nostalgia, we hit up White Castle - a rarity where we live.

As for entertainment, we're pretty big Cirque du Soleil fans. "O" at The Bellagio was our first Cirque show, and we've been hooked since. This trip, "Mystère" amazed us with its classic Cirque charm. (If you ever get a chance to see their traveling show, Alegría, check it out—it is our favorite Cirque show to this day!) And let's not forget "Absinthe" - the quintessential Vegas show with laughter and cheeky R-rated humor. Though, fair warning, it might not be for everyone (sorry, mom!). We made the time to explore outside the box and watch a non-Cirque show and landed on Absinthe. It is a very intimate show due to the small venue and they do have a part of the show where they will call a selected guest on stage, FYI. No seat is safe.
Our strategic planning meant we were in Vegas over the 4th of July weekend. The view of the fireworks from our balcony at The Cosmo? Simply perfect.

Here are a few more Musts and Must-Nots!
Egg Battle Royale: In the left corner, we have Egg Slut at The Cosmo, and in the right, Egghead at Aria. Ding ding! And the winner by a tasty knockout is... Egghead! That's right, I'm calling it. You haven't truly quick service breakfasted in Vegas until you've given Egghead a try. Sorry, Egg Slut, better luck next brunch.
High Roller Highs: Picture this - Las Vegas at night, lights twinkling like a galaxy of neon stars, and you, 550 feet up in the air on the High Roller. It's fabulous, it's breathtaking, it's... a one-time thing. Trust me, once you've seen Vegas from the heavens, you've seen it all. So do it once and tick it off your bucket list. Tip: Book in advance to bypass the lines.
Parisian Daydreams at Mon Ami Gabi: Imagine nibbling on divine French cuisine at Mon Ami Gabi, with the sun smiling down - c'est magnifique! And pop up the half-scale Eiffel Tower for an extra sprinkle of Paris. It's like a quick jaunt to France, minus the jet lag.
Neon Nostalgia: Step into a glowing wonderland at The Neon Museum. This isn't your average museum - it's a vibrant homage to the iconic neon signs that once lit up the Vegas skyline. It's history, it's art, it's electrifying!
Ditching the Mob: The Mob Museum? More like the 'Maybe-skip-it Museum.' While it's got its charms, if you're crunched for time, you won't miss much by giving it a pass. After all, there's only so much you can cram into a Vegas getaway!
A Walk in the Bellagio's Garden: Strolling through the Bellagio's Conservatory is like wandering through a living, breathing art piece. With a kaleidoscope of flowers and plants that change with the seasons, every visit's a new surprise. Don't miss this ever-changing botanical beauty!
Enchanting dinner at Lago at The Bellagio: An absolute must-try. Tapas-style dining meant we could sample more of their delicious offerings, all with a stunning fountain view.
Gordan Ramsey’s Best Vegas Restaurant: If you are a Gordan Ramsey fan, you can never go wrong making a reservation at Hell’s Kitchen and chowing down on a fabulous Beef Wellington.
So, there you have it, folks - our latest Vegas escapade, a testament to the joys of couple's travel. Whether it's your first time or your fifth, Sin City always has something new to offer. Until next time, keep living luxuriously and remember what happens in Vegas... ends up on our blog! 😉✨🎰
